This class, we focused on reading the sentences in Quick Response 1. We worked on pronunciation, and I asked follow-up questions.

Next class, review some pronunciation problems from below and then focus on Quick Response 2.

Vocabulary

Gum – 口香糖

Flavor – 味道

Strawberry – 草莓

Plant – something that grows, like a flower, grass, tree 植物

Wear – 穿

Bottle – 瓶子

Sports – 运动

Have a cold – 感冒

Tasty / Delicious – 好吃

Cellphone – 手机

Grammar

At nine o’clock I am sleeping on bed – I am sleeping / I am in bed

I like fly a kite in autumn – I like flying kites in autumn

Pronunciation

Can – put your tongue higher in your mouth for “n”

Park – “ar” before k, and make the k strong

Doll, Pencil – work on the “L” at the end of words; put your tongue up and keep it there; don’t move you lips

There / Think – be careful with “th” so that it doesn’t become “z” or “s”

Book – make sure to say “uh” and don’t let “books” sound like “box”
