Lyrics vs. Subtitles
— Lyrics tell you what someone says in a song.
— Subtitles tell you what someone says in a movie or show.

Libretto vs. Score
— A libretto has the words for an opera piece.
— A score has all music parts for a piece of music.

Fun vs. Funny
— Fun is something that you like to do.
— Funny is something that is amusing and maybe causes you to laugh.

Documentary – a movie that tells a real story or explains something, like long news
e.g. There’s a popular new documentary on Fred Rogers (Mr. Rogers, of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood)

Heritage vs. Inheritance
— Heritage is the culture and history you get from the past.
— Inheritance is the stuff you get when someone dies.

Cater – to order food to be served at a location separate from the restaurant

(To hold someone) Hostage – threaten harm to someone in exchange for money
e.g. We held her boyfriend hostage until she paid us $1,000,000.

To take place – to happen, to be set in a location (like a movie)
e.g. Where did it take place? = where did it happen / where was it supposed to have been?

e.g. At the end of the exam, the instructor collected all the papers.

Proctor – someone who supervise the administration of an exam
