Vocabulary
theist /Â is a person who believes in God, or organized religion.
e.g. If you believe in God, you are a theist. You believe in theism.
atheist / a person who does not believe that God exists.
e.g. Chinese people are usually atheists. China is an atheistic country generally.
combative / combat /Â describes someone who likes to fight
e.g. Christopher Hitchens is known as a combative speaker — he will always try to start a fight with his opponent.
fanaticism / fanatic /Â someone whose belief is so strong that they are willing to do violent things in the name of this belief
e.g. There are many Muslim fanatics in the world, there are also Christian fanatics.
lukewarm / it’s a bad quality…it literally means some drink that is neither hot, nor cold, it’s neither warm nor cool…it’s uncomfortably in the middle. And no one likes lukewarm tea.
e.g. Beverages can be lukewarm. And people’s arguments can be lukewarm. You don’t want to be a lukewarm person — they are viewed as weak.

e.g. I left the church because I disagreed with the direction the leader was taking the people.
