use the materials in a different way / leverage = how you use it

e.g. When you go into a negotation, the side with more leverage will be more successful.

e.g.  When it comes to your talent, it’s not about what your talent is, it’s how you utilize it/leverage it.

Utilize = simply to use…like using a hammer for nail.

Leverage = utilizing something for a gain w/ a purpose.

e.g. VERB = I leverage my talents.

e.g NOUN = I was fired, I tired to argue, but I had no leverage (I had no advantages on my side).

Leverage also means BORROWING MONEY or a LOAN.

e.g. Nicole bought a home yesterday. Oh great, does that mean she’s leveraged? I have a loan. I bought a house, and borrowed money from the bank. Home = Mortgage. I got a mortgage. I got a loan.

e.g. If you got a loan, you’re leveraged.

hierarchical (adj) / hiearchy (noun)

e.g. Most companies are hierachies, this makes them very hierachical.

e.g. Some psychologists argue that within ourselves — within our minds — we are hierarchcial. Meaning, there is no true “self”…there is not one person…but many layers of thinking or personalities.

e.g. Society is hierarchical.

easily offended / what you say, hurts my feelings, even if it not purposely.

e.g. When I was younger, I was made fun of as a kid. So in the future, whenever people said things that reminded me of it, I was easily offended.

pounding / a loud knocking, hitting, loud bashing sound

e.g.  My head is pounding = I have a headache.

e.g. You can pound bread.

e.g. Or the food delivery man can pound at your door.

phobia (noun) / an irrational fear vs. phobic (adj)

If you take a word + phobia = scared of this thing

homophobia = fear/hatred of gay people

claustrophobia = fear of tight, enclsosed spaces

e.g. I have clausterphobia. I am clausterphobic.

arachnaphobia = fear of spiders

people’s minds are changing / 

immoral / = opposite of moral = opposite of good values, evil, you dont knwo the difference between right and wrong, or maybe you do, and you dont care.

hypocrtical / hippo-critcal = you say one thing, but you do the opposite.
