advanced – 高级的 = black diamond = red

leak – 泄漏 – when water slowly comes out of the sink / when someone shares secret information

e.g. The spy leaked the government secrets!

e.g. The Tesla employee leaked the special business plans! (verb) He was the leak! (noun)

proprietary – 所有权 – specially owned property that only YOU or YOUR BUSINESS can see or use

e.g. Smart English has a proprietary teaching method to help students.

e.g. The iPhone has proprietary technology that makes its phones the best!

the press = the news = newspapers, magazines, etc.

secrecy – the keeping of secrets – 保密

e.g. I told Jin a secret of mine – she is now sworn to secrecy – she can tell no one!

proprietary information = intellectual property (IP)

e.g .China and the USA often fight because the USA thinks that China steals their “intellectual property”

patent – government license for IP – 专利

e.g. If you want to protect your IP, you must get a “patent”.
