I live in a big family I have 4 siblings, three sisters-two elder and one younger and one younger brother. We came from Fujian province, a little town which is the border of Fujian and Zhejiang. We speak with a dialect. In our home town the dialect will be different between two hills and if you cross to another village you will find you can’t understand the people said. Although we came from Fujian but we belong to Hui minority and our religion is Buddhism.  And I and my siblings are all Hui Chinese. We have been living in Shanghai for almost 15 years. My father have several siblings as well so I got 3 uncles and an aunt and I also . On my father’s side I’ve got 3 uncles and an aunt and I also have 8 cousins. On my mother’s side I got two uncles and an aunt.  I’m so glad I grew up in such a big family.

there are many different dialects in my hometown, for example it is enough just to cross a hill and you will find your self in an area where people speak in a completely different dialect, very often you won’t be able to understand them. very often these dialects are mutually unintelligible.我的家乡有许多不同的方言,例如,只要过了一座山就足够了,你就会发现自己身处一个人们用完全不同的方言说话的地方,你常常听不懂。这些方言常常互不可知。
