Reading

Astronauts are people who travel and work in space. Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to walk on the moon. He helped people on earth learn more about the moon.
In 1969, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins flew to the moon in a spaceship. Collin stayed in a part of the spaceship that circled the moon. Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon in a part of the spaceship called the Eagle. On July 20, Armstrong came out of the Eagle and stepped onto the moon. He said, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
Armstrong and Aldrin took rocks and soil from the moon. They studied the area and put up the flag of the United States. Then all three astronauts went home safely. This was an exciting time in American history.
