Vocabulary

transportation (n): 交通工具；车辆
E.g.: Bicycles are a cheap and efficient form/means of transportation.
自行车是一种便宜而高效的交通工具。

technology (n):(the study and knowledge of) the practical, especially industrial, use of scientific discoveries
技术（学）；应用技术；（尤指）工业技术
E.g.: computer technology
计算机技术
E.g.: Modern technology is amazing, isn’t it?
现代技术很奇妙，是不是？

pedals (n):脚蹬子，踏板
a flat bar on a machine such as a bicycle, car, etc. that you push down with your foot in order to make parts of the machine move or work
E.g.: I couldn’t reach the pedals on her bike.
我骑她的车够不到脚蹬子。
E.g.: She pressed her foot down on the brake pedal.
她猛踩刹车踏板。

pedal (v):to push the pedals of a bicycle with your feet骑（自行车）
He struggled to pedal his bicycle up the hill.
他吃力地骑着自行车上山。

without (prep/adv): You look nice without make-up.
你不化妆显得挺可爱的。
E.g.: He went without my knowledge.
他没有让我知道就去了。
E.g.: I couldn’t have done it without you.
没有你，我是无法完成的。

gasoline-汽油／gas/oil
E.g.: The gasoline is very expensive nowadays
E.g.: The gasoline makes the car go.

motor (n):a device that changes electricity or fuel into movement and makes a machine work
发动机，引擎；电动机，马达
E.g.: The pump is powered by a small electric motor.
这个泵是由一台小电机提供动力的。
E.g.: Our washing machine needs a new motor.
我们的洗衣机需要换个新电动机。
E.g.: The motor in the car makes the wheels turn.
