predict (v): to say that an event or action will happen in the future, especially as a result of knowledge or experience
E.g.: It’s still not possible to accurately predict the occurrence of earthquakes.
E.g.: Who could have predicted that within ten years he’d be in charge of the whole company?

predictable (adj): happening or behaving in a way that you expect and not unusual or interesting
E.g.:The ending to the film was just so predictable.
unpredictable (adj): likely to change suddenly and without reason and therefore not able to be predicted (= expected before it happens) or depended on
E.g.: The weather there can be unpredictable – one minute it’s blue skies and the next minute it’s pouring rain.
E.g.: The hours in this job are very unpredictable – you sometimes have to work late at very short notice.
