heterogenous (adj): consisting of parts or things that are very different from each other

E.g.:Switzerland is a heterogeneous confederation of 26 self-governing cantons.

homogenous (adj): consisting of parts or people that are similar to each other or are of the same type
由同类事物(或人)组成的;同类的;相似的
E.g.:a homogeneous group/society

E.g.:The population of the village has remained remarkably homogeneous.

homosexual-同性恋的=gay and lesbian

prefix-a letter or group of letters added to the beginning of a word to make a new word
前缀
E.g.:In the word “unimportant”, “un-” is a prefix.

A suffix is added at the end of a word, and a prefix is added to the beginning.
The prefixes ‘in-‘, ‘im-‘, ‘il-‘ and ‘ir-‘ all mean ‘not’.

suffix-a letter or group of letters added at the end of a word to make a new word
后缀,词尾
E.g.:The suffix “-ness” added to the end of the word “sweet” forms the word “sweetness”, changing an adjective into a noun.

E.g.:In the word ‘slowly’, ‘ly’ is a suffix.
The suffix ‘less‘ changes a noun into an adjective, meaningwithout‘.
