Vocabulary

enrage (v): to cause someone to become very angry:
E.g.: Plans to build a new nightclub in the neighborhood have enraged local residents.
E.g.: He was enraged at the article about him.

sock (n): a piece of clothing made from soft material that covers your foot and the lower part of your leg:
E.g.: a pair of socks

shout (v): to express strong emotions, such as anger, fear, or excitement, or to express strong opinions, in a loud voice:

cat-and-mouse game
A situation characterized by two parties engaged in a constant back-and-forth routine in which the advantage alternates between them.
E.g.: It’s been a real cat-and-mouse game between these two teams—we won’t be sure of the victory until the very last moment!

the upper hand (n): If you have the upper hand, you have more power than anyone else and so have control.
