conflict (n):an active disagreement between people with opposing opinions or principles冲突；分歧；争论
E.g.: There was a lot of conflict between him and his father.

a conflict of interest-a situation in which someone cannot make a fair decision because they will be affected by the result
利益（或利害）冲突（因为相关自身利益而使当事人无法做出公正或公平判断的情况）
E.g.: I need to declare a conflict of interest here – one of the candidates for the job is a friend of mine.

interest (n):something that brings advantages to or affects someone or something

E.g.: It’s in his interests to keep careful records.

diplomatic (adj):acting in a way that does not cause ofence

offense (n):upset and hurt or annoyed feelings, often because someone has been rude or shown no respect冒犯；触犯；得罪
E.g.: I really didn’t mean (to cause/give) any offense (= did not intend to upset anyone) – I was just stating my opinion.

offend (v):to make someone upset or angry
