Vocabulary

Cold War (n): a state of extreme unfriendliness existing between countries, especially countries with opposing political systems, that expresses itself not through fighting but through political pressure and threats. The expression is usually used of the relationship between the US and the Soviet Union after the Second World War.

incident (n): 1-an event that is either unpleasant or unusual:
E.g.: an isolated/serious/unfortunate incident
E.g: A youth was seriously injured in a shooting incident on Saturday night.

rehearse (n):to practise a play, a piece of music, etc. in order to prepare it for public performance

The musicians rehearsed (the symphony) for the concert.

blank out (v):to stop yourself thinking about a memory because it is unpleasant and you would prefer not to remember it
