lust (n): 1-a very powerful feeling of wanting something:
E.g.: her lust for power
E.g.: It’s wonderful to see the children’s lust for life (= how enthusiastic they are about life).

semi-annual/semiannual (adj): used to describe something that happens twice a year:
E.g. : In June it paid a semiannual dividend of 5 cents a share.

dividend (n): 2-(a part of) the profit of a company that is paid to the people who own shares in it:
Dividends will be sent to shareholders.
As director and principal shareholder, he receives a substantial annual dividend from the company.

substantial (adj): 1-large in size, value, or importance:
E>g.: The findings show a substantial difference between the opinions of men and women.
E.g.: She inherited a substantial fortune from her grandmother.
E.g.: The first draft of his novel needed a substantial amount of rewriting.

collaborator (n): 1-a person who works with an enemy who has taken control of their country:
E.g.: wartime collaborators
E.g.: a Nazi collaborator

drift off (v): 1-to gradually start to sleep:
E.g.: I couldn’t help drifting off in the middle of that lecture – it was so boring!

referendum (n):全民公决,a vote in which all the people in a country or an area are asked to give their opinion about or decide an important political or social question:
E.g.: Is it more democratic to hold a referendum, rather than let the government alone decide?
E.g.: A referendum was held on the question of whether the U.K. should remain a member of the European Community.
