Writing exercise

Cities are divided into 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th tier according to the economic development level, population and scope. There are some obvious differences between these two tiers cities.

Firstly, there are more commerce and work opportunities in 1st/2nd tier cities than 3rd/4nd. Lots of people leave their hometown for big cities to seek jobs or start up their businesses. Most of the giant companies and unicorns are located in 1st/2nd tier cities. But, the price is that the work pace in these cities is much faster than 3rd/4th cities, people have to contribute more private time to their work. Furthermore, changing is an eternal theme, new business models and new technologies break out continuously. If people want to catch up the times, they have to learn and adapt new things quickly.

Then, the education and health care resources are centralized in 1st/2nd tire cities and people can get higher level service. However, people have to face more fierce competition if they want to get better resource. For example, you need to wait for a long time before seeing a good doctor or pass a very difficult exam before receiving a good school’s offer.

The third one is about relationship. People in 3rd/4th tier cities pay more attention to the relationship with others than big cities. Because small cities’ residents have more private time usually and its population size is far smaller than big cities, people’s relationship is much closer.

Revised:

Cities are divided into 1st/2nd tier and 3rd/4th tier according to the level of economic development, population and scope. There are some obvious differences between these two different tier cities.

Firstly, there are more commerce and work opportunities in 1st/2nd tier cities than 3rd/4nd. Lots of people leave their hometown for big cities to seek jobs or start-up their businesses. Most of the giant companies and unicorns are located in 1st/2nd tier cities. But, the draw back is that the work pace in these cities is much faster than 3rd/4th cities so/therefore people have to contribute/dedicate extra private time to their work. Furthermore, change is forever happening, new business models and new technologies break out/appear continuously. If people want to catch up with the times/be at the forefront of technology, they have to learn and adapt new things quickly.

Next/In addition, the education and healthcare resources are centralized in 1st/2nd tier cities and people can access/receive high-quality service. However, people have to face more fierce/tougher competition if they want to get better resources. For example, you need to wait for a long time before seeing a good doctor or pass a very difficult exam before receiving a good school’s offer.

The third aspect/factor is about relationships. People in 3rd/4th tier cities pay more attention to peer-to-peer relationships with others than big cities. Because residents of small cities usually have more private time and its population size is much smaller than big cities so people’s relationship is much closer.
