I had waited for him – the actions before the recent past
finish (infinitive) – used in some tenses
eg. I like to finish my work early.
finished (past participle) – used to form the past tense
eg. I finished my homework last night.
eg. I have finished my project.
Speaking exercise
I am lazy. I have preparaton my resume for six months. I decided to finish it last week. Tomorrow, I get up early to do my resume. To begin, I plan to look my new job next years, but last week my colleague introduce me to her company. Just try, because she have invited me for 3 times.
