ex. utility bill
clock-in/out – to go to the office at exactly the right time
ex. I don’t need to clock-in at 9’oclock every morning.
gas/petrol station- same
interviewer – the person conducting the interview
interviewee – the person getting interviewed
stereotype – common beliefs that people have of a different culture
ex. All Chinese people are good at ping-pong is a stereotype.
ex. A common stereotype about British people is that they have a nice London accent.
some tips for small talk:Â
-don’t just reply and finish with “I’m good. Thanks!”
– ask them “How was your weekend?” “Did you hear about this…?”
-start a conversation by talking about something you did recently
-shouldn’t be about work
