Use the past continuous tense to make some sentences.

Vocabulary

Do you have any days off – Do you have any holidays?

On National Day – 1st October / National holiday – the week

throughout – during/over

eg. I don’t have any plans throughout/over the National holiday.

meet -> met (past tense) 

waste – 浪费

eg. If it keeps raining then this holiday is a waste.

eg. I wasted my holiday.

shout – to speak very loudly

eg. I could not hear him so he shouted what he said just now.

eg. I shouted at my colleague since he was standing on the other end of the room.

scream – “AHHHH”

eg. She saw a ghost and screamed very loudly.

eg. The boy screamed at his mother because she didn’t buy that toy.

scared/frightened/fear  

eg. I’m frightened of his angry behaviour.

eg. He is frightened of snakes.

through – 穿过

ex. walk through a library/park/shopping mall/a door

walk past – 路过

ex. He walked past me on the street.

ex. I walked past the library.

past continuous tense – -ing 

to be (past tense) + verb -ing

was + hanging clothes

ex. I was hanging clothes while Jerry was pitching the tent.

ex. Tom was gathering twigs while Mr Tan was chopping wood.

ex. She was cooking at 7 o’clock yesterday.

ex. Joe was having lunch at yesterday noon.

ex. What were you doing at 2-5 pm yesterday?

A couple of days ago, I had dinner with my family.

One day I worked from 9 o’clock in the morning to 12 o’clock midnight. Before the holiday – 2 days before the holiday.

Two new employees just come into my company. They are not familiar with my projects so I have to help them. I really wanted this holiday.

Maybe I want to take a trip, I just want to stay a place for a long time. I don’t want to around anywhere.
