Vocabulary
unit of measurement – a type of system to measure something
pharaoh – ruler of Egypt
deceased – sbd who passes away
eg. The deceased was a man who used to work in this building.
embalm – a process of dealing with a dead body to prevent it from rotting/decaying
eg. Egyptians would embalm their pharaoh before turning them into mummies.
Speaking exercise
The Egyptian people they invented the Hieroglyph writing system. They also invented mathematic measurements. These include cubit and hours.
They are men or women or someone who wasn’t Egyptian. Their ruler will become Gods after death.
They invented another language called Hieratic and a kind of paper called papyrus made of papyrus plants.
He was keen on building things and he lived for a long time.
