What do different colours represent for different companies/products? How do they differ for different industries? What are your thoughts of different colours?

advertisements/ads – pictures or visual information that promotes a product or service

commercial – moving images or a video form of ads

health supplements – pills or dietary supplements that you take to keep you healthy

eg. Many commercials use catchphrases to brainwash you.

catchphrase: 广告语

catchy (adj) – if something is catchy it is easy to remember and attractive

eg. Some adverts have catchy catchphrases.

brand awareness – how much do people know about the brand

raise/increase brand awareness

shape/s – 图形

home appliances – electronics for use at home

safest method/many brands like to play safe 

Speaking exercise

Usually, I skip them when I watch TV. I think it’s boring but sometimes I watch some creative commercial on internet. It’s funny. I can remember some commercial. The commercial is boring but everyone can remember their product. For example, NBJ, it can brainwash you. But my teacher told us that it’s successful although it’s boring but everyone can remember it so it’s successful. I think having a story is a good method. I think the story must suit the product’s image. They can tell people the company’s culture. Like Coca Cola and Apple. Recently I watched a commercial about Apple. The video introduce the Apple’s all products. They use simple shapes to outline their products.

I think they don’t have enough people to do this. I think they want to make money use immediately method. For example, e-commerce, if the platform there are many cheap goods then others the people will to buy on the platform.

Different colours suit different cultures. For example when I design a web page for a company sometimes we always blue. And also home appliances. If it’s vegetables then it’s green.
