Vocabulary

high school: 高中

curious: interested about people or things around you

eg. The child is curious about the things around him.

sketches: 素描

demonstrate: to show another person how to do something

jump rope(n/v)/skip(v): 跳绳

choose: to pick what you want

eg. I want to choose the most colourful balloon.

character: a person in a game/book/movie

eg. There are many characters to choose from in the game.

strangers: people you don’t know

eg. I play games with strangers.

eg. Usually adults tell little kids to not talk to strangers.

get ready: to prepare for something

eg. I need to get ready for high school.

eg. She needs 5 hours to get ready for work in the morning.

I am very curious about high school. I want to make new friends in high school. Maybe I am good at maths. Because sometimes the school’s art class is very boring.

Sometimes I will go to have art class outside of school to learn how to draw sketches. The teacher only gives us some pictures or she will demonstrate for everyone.

I like water coloured paintings more than the sketches.

I prefer PE class more than Chinese class.

I exercise at home and I like to jump rope/skip. 

I don’t want to have lunch at home because sometimes I’m not hungry, but my parents like to give me a lot of food so I don’t like to have lunch at home. No, but on the holidays, I meet with my friends and we go to have lunch outside. 

I prefer to stay at home because I like the air-con. I like playing games on the phone but they need wifi. You can choose a character and play with others. Sometimes I have friends that play with me. But, most of the time, I just match with strangers to play with them.
