Vocabulary
Counterfeited goods – fake items that look extremely similar to the real product
Counterfeit (adj) – It is a counterfeit bag/shoes etc.
It is a copy of a real bag.
For software – It has a licence or legal/illegal
eg. This software is licenced for three computers.
My phone is out of battery/my phone is dead
fostering: to help (something) grow or develop
eg. Socialising is a way to foster confidence in people.
spoon feeding: to give someone information in a way that does not require them to make any effort to think further.
eg. Spoon feeding teenagers will not help them to develop critical thinking skills.
mimic: to copy (someone’s) behaviour or speech
eg. She has a talent for mimicking famous people.
Daunting: making you feel scared or anxious
eg. Going abroad for the first time can be a daunting experience to many young people.

Tom Finn from Sallins, Co Kildare, a second-year international business student at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, is one of them. He agrees that the first few months can be very difficult.
“I didn’t really know what to expect before heading to Maastricht,” he says. “I certainly didn’t think I would be so responsible for my own learning as students here run the tutorials themselves with presentations, reports and debates, while a tutor supervises, to ensure we stay on topic.
