1. do an errand/ run an errand = 做一个差事／跑一下腿
ex: My mom asked me to run an errand for her, she wanted me to buy a cake.
ex: My father said “Annie, tomorrow you could do an errand for me, I want you to go to the store and buy some strawberry cakes. ”

2. start= begin开始
ex: The class started at 4pm.
ex: This fashion show starts at night.

3. saw= the past tense of “see” 看到了
ex: Annie! I saw you at the mall yesterday!
ex: I saw a lovely dog on the road this morning.

4. string= a long thread线
ex: My grandmother needs a lot of strings to make her old clothes.

Molly was a happy little girl. She has a father and a mother, a grandfather and a grandmother. Each of them had some work to do. Father and Grandfather liked to work in the yard. One day Father say “Oh Molly, will you do an errand for me?” Please go to the store and get some grass seed for me. Here is the money. Just then Mother called “Oh Molly, will you do another errand? Please get me some bread?” “All right mother,” said Molly. As she started, she said “seed for father, bread for mother”. Just then grandfather saw Molly going out of the door, “Here is some money” he said. “Please get a me a ball of string.” Molly took the money. As she started again, she start “Seed for father, bread for mother, string for grandfather.” Soon she came to the store, she got the seed, the bread, and the ball of string. But she could not think what grandmother wanted.

Today, Molly go to the store and buy seed for father, buy bread for mother, buy string for grandfather, and buy pin for grandmother, but she forget what the grandmother wants. Now she knows, grandmother wants pins.
