Vocabulary

1. overtime (OT)=加班
ex: we need to work OT when we have products to go live on a specific day.
ex: In China, when you do OT, you don’t get paid.

2. perks= 特权 补贴
ex: His perks include a car provided by the firm.

3. reimburse (verb)= give the money back 报销
reimbursement (noun)
ex: when you go on a business trip, the company will reimburse your flight tickets and hotel expenses.
ex: There are always some problems to reimburse my expenses, because our reimbursement process is quite difficult in our company.

4. compensate (verb)= 补偿
compensation (noun)
ex: if you trip in HaiDiLao and break your leg, the company will compensate you for your loss.
ex: If you get laid off, the company will compensate you according to the N+2 regulation.

5. trip (verb)= 滑倒
ex: I tripped over a banana peel.
ex: If you trip too much, then you need to intake calcium.

Recently, I’m thinking to change another job, so I need to stay at home looking for a new opportunity and update my CV. Last several months, I was really busy with my daily work, because we have a big project in our team. We need to do many things for this project to go live. After 3 months, I feel like to need to have a rest and think about what I’m going to do next. After you finish a task, you feel you learned something from this big project but I a little lost, whether I need to stay at the same page, or I need to look for a new opportunity. Currently I’m thinking about looking for some new opportunity and my career path.

I just update my CV last weekend and started to search for some new opportunities on some job hunting apps. Currently I’m using LiePin, whenever I update my CV, some hunters will come to find me, but it’s not fixed hunter. I just talked with some of my friends about whether it’s a good time for quit or changing to other position because currently, the economy environment is not that positive, many companies don’t open job, it will take me some time for find a good one. I need to consider well, I just worked for three years, it will take me some time to find a proper one.

For me, it’s quite important step for my career path. The most important thing is development opportunity. The company environment is important as well. I’m working in a German company, it’s a little bit too strict, you cannot change anything in this company, you need to go by the rule. I would prefer it’s more open-minded.
