Vocabulary

1.frightened= super scared

ex: People can be frightened of all sorts of things

2 harmless= no harm, not dangerous

ex: babies, turtles, goldfish, bichons are harmless.

3. clowns= people dressed up differently, usually with big red nose.

ex: You can see clowns in amusement parks, not Disneyland hahahaha

4. irrational= no reason 不理智

ex: Young girls often make irrational decisions.

When I was 15, taobao is popular, I will buy something cheap and just look beautiful in picture. But when I receive it, it’s always too ugly or not useful, but I never bring back. Now I still do like this thing, I don’t know why. Every year I told myself don’t buy anything online, I still buy.

We can be frightened for all kinds of reasons; some are logical, such as a fear of snakes which might bite you, but people can be frightened of all sorts of  things, many of them harmless: clowns, butterflies, clocks, moonlight. We call them phobias, and there are long lists of these phobias, most of them seemingly totally irrational.  However, not all fears can be classed as phobias, and we have lots of different words to describe fear, and even ways to describe the people who experience these feelings.
