Vocabulary

1. frightened= very scared

ex: People can be frightened of many things

2. logical= with reason

ex: Most men are more logical than women, women are more emotional.

3. harmless= no harm, not dangerous

ex: babies are harmless.

4. irrational= 不理智 no reason

ex: Young girls often make irrational decisions.

Pronunciation

frightened= ight   night, bright, tight, might, light, right, wright

logical= LOgical

irrational =yee RAtional

way= ay sounds like A.  (bay, play with clay, lay, may)

experience= ex BEE rience ** sp is sb sound** special, spring, spill, sprout

short vowel: a,e,i,o,u  阿诶一哦呃( hat, net, hit, hot, hut) (bad, bed, bid, bod, bud)

long vowel a,e,i,o,u (hat hate, kit kite, lit lite, pic pike, not note, broke, hug huge, puck puke, dude)

We can be frightened for all kinds of reasons; some are logical, such as a fear of snakes which might bite you, but people can be frightened of all sorts of  things, many of them harmless: clowns, butterflies, clocks, moonlight. We call them phobias, and there are long lists of these phobias, most of them seemingly totally irrational.  However, not all fears can be classed as phobias, and we have lots of different words to describe fear, and even ways to describe the people who experience these feelings.

Today I woke up at 11 o’clock with my husband, he cooked some food for me, some soups and bread. I like it. After brunch, I watched TV with him, it is a new TV drama, the name is 老中医. We spend two hours watch it, but my husband said the drama is very interesting, he likes it. I like some TV shows like 奇葩说，but he doesn’t. Also, I don’t like this drama but I still watch it with my husband.
