Writing exercise

1)Let’s talk about your home town or village. • What kind of place is it? • What’s the most interesting part of your town/village? • What kind of jobs do the people in your town/village do? • Would you say it’s a good place to live? (Why?)

I was born in Shanghai. It’s not a big city but it’s a mult-culture city in our country. Shanghai has a good position in China which is close to the sea and through the Huangpu River. So there has some important trading ports in the city. Lots of people like here because Shanghai is a modern, and one of the most develop city in the country.

In recently years, more and more people like to live in Shanghai. It is the centre city of economical in china. A lot of foreign company came here, so younger have more chance when they were graduated. They can get higher salary and have a good life. When they choose their career, they tend to be a financial officer, a sales or an assistant.

Shanghai’s night is colourful. A lot of people from different countries. They are travelling, studying or working in Shanghai. It’s a good place to get to know with each other and share something what they want. Shanghai also have many supermarket.I usually go shopping or having dinner after work with my friends. I can choose a good restaurant which is best for me wherever I am.
So I love my home town very much.

2)Let’s move on to talk about accommodation. • Tell me about the kind of accommodation you live in? • How long have you lived there? • What do you like about living there? • What sort of accommodation would you most like to live in?

I live in a old accommodation. There are four families lived on each floor. I lived on the fourth floor. I moved here about eight years ago when I was a student. As I moved here, I meet my high school classmate. She told me that a lot of classmates lived nearby and we can meet with each other.

My house is not big. It has two bedrooms and one dinning room. There are some simple furnitures in my room. A desk, a bookshelf and a bad. I think that’s not enough. I need a wardrobe and a TV. I can watch TV alone for whole night. That’s sounds perfect. There is a big supermarket near my home. It is convenient that we can go shopping after dinner. The subway is about 15 minutes from my home. So I’m satisfied with where I lived now.

Actually, the accommodation is not clean. A few people doesn’t like to sort the garbage. Sometimes they didn’t throw the garbage into the bin when the manager is not here. But most people obey the rules. I think we must protect the environment and our life will better. So if I have enough money, I want to move to a clean and pretty accommodation.
