1.lag (verb)= 卡

ex: I like the BGM.

3. speak up= speak louder
ex: Can you speak up? I can’t hear you.

4. turn it (the volume) up= make the music louder
ex: can you turn it up? it’s too quiet.

5. turn it (the volume) down= make the music softer
ex: the baby is going to sleep, can you turn it down?

ex: when you jaywalk in China, the cars will never stop for you.

Writing exercise

I would say the terrible network connection really annoys me a lot, especially when I have something important to do. For example, sending an urgent email or having an online meeting with my colleagues. This would definitely get me desperate. I remember once my boss gave me a voice call to arrange some tasks for me. She was about to give me some instructions when it showed: your network connection was unstable. After that, I could only hear some broken sentences which didn’t make sense. I knew this wouldn’t work so I gave her a phone call to apologize. I also annoy the people who has a loud cell phone conversation in public area. If you have to talk in a public space on the phone, keep the conversation short and use a low tone of voice. If texting is permitted, then send a quick message and arrange to continue the conversation later.

This would definitely piss me off/ I would feel desperate/hopeless. I remember once my boss gave me a voice call to arrange some tasks for me. She was about to give me some instructions when it showed: your network connection is unstable. After that, I could only hear some broken sentences which didn’t make sense. I knew this wouldn’t work so I called her back to apologize.
I am also annoyed by the people who have a loud cell phone conversations in public areas. If you have to talk in a public space on the phone, keep the conversation short and keep your voice down (use inside voice) . If texting is permitted, then send a quick message and resume the phone (call) conversation later.
