Writing exercise

Usually we judge people by what they are reading, but what we see is not always the truth. For example, trashy romantic novel is regard as useless and meaningless, so the readers who read those books are regard as boring and not busy, might doing a simple work, however, if someone are reading a serious biography, people would think he/she is a an intellectual. But our impressions are probably completely wrong. The book doesn’t represent who they are. People with a serious work maybe like a light read to take her mind off work, and someone reading serious book just for showing off.

Publishers know people’s psychological, they put out different cover to ingratiate consumers. For example, books about Harry Potter have two version cover, one for young people, and the other for adult.

When I was in school, I like reading books about history, economic, sociology etc. because I have enough time and energy, I am interest in everything then. But now I just want to watch some comedies and not need thinking, just make me laugh. Not because I am not doing a simple work and have lots of time to spend. But I am nearly exhausted every day, I just want to relax after work.

So, don’t jump to any conclusions by what people are reading.
