Vocabulary

1.dependant on (          )= 依赖
rely on=依赖
ex: I am still dependent on my husband because he provides the house.
ex: If I have a boyfriend, I would rely on him to make me happy.
ex: I’m dependent on my parents because when I encounter problems at work, I will call them.

2. comfort (verb)= 安慰
ex: she cried and I comforted her.
ex: If I’m not happy, nothing can comfort me, maybe shopping will make me happier.

3. permanent (adj) = 固定的
permanently (adv)
ex: This isn’t a permanent location, I will move to Japan in a few months.
ex: We will be bonded permanently 
ex: permanent marker
ex: I will not stay in SH permanently, I might go back to my hometown.

4. temporary (adj)= 暂时的
temporarily (adv)
ex: This is a temporary job, I’m looking for a full time job.
ex: I live here temporarily, next month I will move.

5. for good =一直
ex: are you staying in SH for good? Yes.
ex: Lily, I’m going back to my hometown. “for good?” “yea probably”.

6. insist (verb)= 执意
ex: ” let me pay” “Nono I will pay” “I insist”
ex: he insists on having class at 9pm, I couldn’t say no.

7. renovation =装修
ex: the apartment is under renovation 
ex: I had to leave the house for 2 months when it was under renovation. 

Last week, our company was under renovation, we moved to another building. The seats were changed, I sit nearby my manager, I feel so bad, because she can see me when I use my phone. Sometimes I want to buy the take-out, she will say “Hermia, why did you play your phone every time”, and I say “I just buy the take-out”, she didn’t believe me. She just believed I play the game. Sometimes I saw her, she play the phone too. I think she was read novels on the phone. She was not busy. When my boss comes here, she will become very busy. On the floor, there was no female toilet, there just have male toilet. When the female colleague want to go to the toilet, they just go upstairs. On Friday, my colleague changed the sign to female toilet, but many men didn’t say anything, they still come to this floor to use the toilet. When I come to the toilet, I heard a man’s voice nearby me. The female toilet is located upstairs, but my colleague didn’t want to go upstairs so they changed the sign. We finish the renovation after Spring Festival, I think I need to stay on this floor until next year.

She just insists that I am playing the game. Sometimes I see her playing with the phone too. I think she was reading novels on the phone. She was not busy. When my boss comes here, she will become very busy. On the floor, there is no ladies room on this floor, there is just one male washroom. When the female colleagues want to go to the toilet, they just go upstairs. On Friday, my colleague changed the sign to ladies room, but many men didn’t see anything, they still come to this floor to use the toilet. When I used the toilet, I heard a man’s voice beside me. The female washroom is located upstairs, but my colleague doesn’t want to go upstairs so they changed the sign. We will be finished with the renovation after the Spring Festival, I think I need to stay on this floor until next year..

Do you know PUA？It’s an abbreviation of Pick -up Artist. At the very start, it just share to men how to catch the girls’ attention. But now it has changed. It became a deceit. The men who have study PUA would tell their girlfriend: everyone will betray you unless me. Including your friends , your parents, your brothers and sisters . You just believe me. They say it to the girls again and again until the girls trust them very much.
They like to attack the girls’confident, for example they will say, you can’t do anything well. You’re a loser. If you leave me, you can’t live alone. Lots of girls will feel humiliated. They begin to doubt themselves. Some people will agree with the PUA men that they are useless.
There is a word which called “Gaslight” in psychology. Gaslight means attack someone and let them lose confidence. PUA is the same. They let the girls lose their confidence and try to control the girls. The girls will think about that they are expendable and their boyfriend or husband are their redeemer. When the man control the girls successfully, they will cheat the money of the girls and some scumbags just think of it as a game, they just cheat the girls’ sentiment.
It’s a very bad situation. I hope every girls can analyze PUA and refuse it .
