Vocabulary

1. it’s on me! = 我来 （我请客）
ex: you can call me if you’re near Reel, we can grab some food, it’s on me!

2. mandatory (adj)= must
ex: it’s not mandatory that we go to the office at 10.

3. clock-in
clock-out
ex: In SE, we don’t need to clock-in, because our student will be here on time.

4. get a promotion= go higher (at work)
ex: I want to learn English because I want to get a promotion.

5. opportunities= 机会／机遇
ex: There are lots of opportunities for promotion given that I speak fluent English.

6. one on one= 一对一
ex: I talked to my boss one on one.

7. interview (verb/noun)= 面试
ex: in the interview, my manager thought I was very experienced.

8. ignore (verb)= 忽略 无视
ex: they ignored my English level.

9. make up (noun)= 化妆品
ex: put on makeup
ex: take off makeup

I want to say my young sister. She finished her test. She worked very hard in high school, but her score is very low, she didn’t get a good mark. I felt she is very low, I want to encourage her but I don’t know what I can say. This Friday, my mom and she will come to Shanghai this Friday. My mom want to her to relax, but I want to advice her to restart grade 12. I think she can try her best to get the satisfied score. But she told me she is very tired and she almost collapsed. If she restart grade 12, she will die. It’s hard for me to choose a good major for her. She don’t know what major is good for her. I want her to study the AI, because when she graduated from the college, she can find a good job. Even though she studies the AI, maybe she won’t learn too much.

Today I want to share my daily life. I usually get up at 8:30am, and then I brush my teeth and wash my face in the bathroom. After this, I need to clean the waste from my cats. According to the time, i decided whether to make up or not makeup. I will take subway about 40 minutes to work/to the office.  I drink some milk and eat some bread for the breakfast. At 12 o’clock, I go to eat lunch downstairs. My colleagues recommend many food to me, I will try them.

She is very down/ depressed, I want to encourage her but I don’t know what to say/to do. This Friday, my mom and she will come to Shanghai with her this Friday. My mom wants to her to relax, but I want to suggest her to redo grade 12. I think she can try her best to get a better mark. But she told me she is very tired and she almost collapsed. If she redo grade 12, she will die. It’s hard for me to help her to choose a good major for her. She doesn’t know what major is good for her. I want her to study the AI, because when she graduates from the college, she would find a good job. Even if she studies the AI, maybe she won’t benefit too much from it.
