The editor is part of the production job. Editing is interesting because the editor won’t attend the shoot sometimes. They will to call footage from what we shoot, merge them together into one piece. Normally we will shoot ten minor footage, they need to cut it into 30 seconds. The director will give their initial thoughts but different edits will present different kind of feelings.

Someone they are doing some emotional pieces, someone may just make it like quick rhythm. Part of them will be in-house, like MPC, they have their own editors. Part of them will be free-lance. They will charge by project.

Today we will hire an animator, she will be a freelance, but she will work with us in the company, she will charge us by day. If she no need to come, she will judge the brief and give us a quotation. If she have to come to the company, the whole day will be booked.

Some editors prefer the emotional styles whereas the others may prefer a quick/ fast-paced style.  Some of them will be in-house, like MPC, they have their own editors. Some of them will be free-lancers. They will be charged by the project.

Today we will hire an animator, she will be a freelance, but she will work with us in the office, she will charge us by day/ she will give us her daily rate/ hourly rate. If she doesn’t need to come in, she will look over the brief and give us a quotation. If she has to come in (the office), we will pay her for the whole day.
