1. work-life balance = to have time for both work and social life
ex: Sometimes I feel that I have no work-life balance, because I get off work too late.

2. irresponsible= 很ä¸è´Ÿè´£çš„
ex: he will complain to the hospital because he thinks I’m irresponsible.

ex: The patients take the doctors for granted, they think they deserve all the time from the doctors.
ex: I took my mom for granted, I thought she should cook and clean for me.

Speaking exercise

I was scared to see a dead body, but when you are working, it’s a part off our job, it’s ok. Maybe you think you are afraid, but you are not. Most people can overcome this. When I was a medicine student, I told my teacher I was scared about the blood and the knife. My teacher is a surgeon, I was studying in a surgeon department for 6 months. This teacher take me to the surgeon room, he forced me to be his assistant all day.He told me you are not really scared of the blood and knife. When I hold the knife at the first time, my hand is a little shake. This teacher told me, don’t scare, you can use this knife on this patient, not on yourself. Maybe he would be painful, not you.

I met a very weird family. The daughters sent their father to the ER. My colleague thought this old patient need to stay in the unit, so I accepted This patient is 93 years old. At the first time I saw his two sons, they said my father is very old so we can accept everything. You doctors and nurses just need to try your best. This patient died yesterday night, this two sons yelled at us. they said their father is great when he come.

I don’t like to talk about work with my friends, but I like to complain to my teachers.

This teacher took/brought me to the operating room, he forced me to be his assistant for the whole day.He told me you are not actually scared of the blood and knife. When I held the knife for the first time, my hand was a little shaky . This teacher told me, “don’t be scared, you can use this knife on this patient, not on yourself. Maybe he would be painful, not you. ”
