Vocabulary

1.practice= 练习
ex: I need to practice my English
ex: I need to do more practices on English.

2.exercise=锻炼(运动）
ex: I like to exercise (verb) everyday
ex: what exercises(noun) do you do?

3. chicken nuggets = 鸡块

4.except for ／other than= 除了
ex: I like all colors except for red.= I like all colors other than red.

5. affect/ influence= 影响
ex: He affected me with his bad temper.
ex: He influenced(verb) me with his bad temper.
ex: he has a bad influence(noun) on me.= 他给我带来不好的影响

6. make an appointment= 预约(人）
make a reservation =预定（项目／东西／餐厅）

7. immature—-mature =不成熟—-成熟
ex: most men are immature, they never grow up.
ex: You are more mature, so you will not be influenced by other things.

8. take a day off= 休一天
take a week off =休一周
take a year off (school/ work)= 休学一年
ex: I want to take a day off tomorrow but I can’t.
ex: I want to take a week off but it’s impossible.

my colleague argued with her boyfriend, and her boyfriend send me message, told me what happened. I asked Jeanie why did you argue with him, and she very angry and asked me “what did he say?” They argue regularly/ on a regular basis. They influenced my mood. Jeanie told me she day off today, I have 3 appointments with my customers, today is so busy, so I told Jeanie “today you can’t day off”.
