Vocabulary

1.subway (noun)= 地铁
ex: I always take the subway to work.
ex: I take the subway to work everyday.

2.skytrain = 天车 轻轨
ex: in Vancouver, we only have skytrains.

3.landlord= 房东
ex: my landlord came to pick me up last night because it was windy.
ex: When I came back to Shanghai, I rented out my apartment in HZ and became a landlord.

4.tour= 巡游
ex: I’ll give you a tour of the school.
ex: She gave me a tour of her apartment.

5. tour guide= 导游
ex: Tour guides used to make lots of money.

6. campus= 校园 校区
ex: JTDX has two campuses in SH.
ex: where are you? I’m at the campus.
ex: do you want to walk around the campus?

7. coupon= 券
ticket=票 门票
ex: you can buy the admission ticket online for a cheaper price.
ex: you can use the coupon next time for the 50% discount.

8. dish= 道菜
ex: I made 4 dishes in one hour.
ex: What’s your favorite dish?

9. deposit (verb)= 存钱
(noun)= 定金
ex: I have to deposit the cash because I don’t like cash.
ex: if you want to buy a car, you need to pay 30% deposit.

10. groceries= 小物品  杂物 买菜
ex: grocery shopping= 买菜
ex: I don’t like to shop for groceries, it’s too much trouble.

The students are very interesting. Henry is Chinese, he’s from Shanghai. Linda is Puerto Rican. She’s from San Juan. Mr and Mrs Kim are Korean, they’re from Soeul. George is Greek. He’s from Athens. Carla is Italian, she from Rome. Mr and Mrs Sato are Japanese. They’re from Tokyo. My friend Maria and I are Mexican. We’re from Mexico City.

Yes the students in my English class are very interesting. We are from many different countries, and we are friends.

I had a trip for Songjiang district this couple of days. I got up at 5 because I wanted to get the first bus for the first tube. When I arrived the railway station, lots of people waited. I got on the line 7 to Zhaojiabang Road and transfer to the line 9 to Songjiang University Town. The weather was so hot when I got out of the tube station. Few minutes later I arrived at the Shanghai International Studied University. It is so large that people need to spend one hour to get around. The‘re many foreign architectures described all over the school. I bought a ticket for dinning room in the cafeteria (食堂). It cost me 20 yuan but only one plate of meat.

I got on the line 7 to Zhaojiabang Road and transferred to the line 9 to Songjiang University Town. It was so hot when I got out of the subway station. Few minutes later I arrived at the Shanghai International Studied University. It is so large that people need to spend one hour for the tour. There are many foreign architectures described all over the campus. I bought a coupon for eating in the cafeteria (食堂). I spent 20 yuan on one dish/  one plate of meat.
