Vocabulary

1. spread= 分散 扩散
ex: bees can spread pollen to the flowers.
ex: you can spread jam on the bread.

2. antennas= 触角
ex: Bees and ants have antennas.

ex: you can mix milk and chocolate, and you will have chocolate milk.

The bumblebee is an important insect. It is a very pollinator, which means it helps spread pllen from one plant to another so that other plants can grow.

A bumblebee is yellow and black and has six legs. It has two antennas for smelling, and a female bumble has a stinger for defending itself.

Most bumblebees live in a nest. Each group of colony has a queen, worker bees and drones. The queen bee is the leader. It lays 4-8 eggs in the nest after a winter in hibernation. The eggs hatch to become worker bees which are female, and drones, which are male. The colony grows until it has 50 to 600 bees.

A bumblebee uses the sweet nectar and pollen from flowers for energy. A worker bee makes honey by chewing the pollen and mixing it with its saliva
