shroud(v): to hide something by covering or surrounding it

eg. Suddenly all the lights went out and the house was shrouded in darkness.

shroud (n): a layer of something that covers or surrounds something (cloth)

eg. Everything was covered in a thick shroud of dust.

cruise around in (something): to travel in a particular vehicle, often casually or aimlessly

eg. The boys enjoyed cruising around in their car late at night.

cab (US): a taxi

enigmatic: full of mystery and difficult to understand
