mediator: to get (something, such as a settlement or agreement) by working with opposing sides in a dispute

eg. He has been appointed by the government to mediate between the company and the striking workers.

quilt: a bed cover made of two layers of cloth filled with wool, cotton, or soft feathers

steep: almost straight up and down

eg. The mountain is very steep.
