invention – something that has been made which has never been made before

oil lamp – produces light by burning oil

pollute – damage the environment

ex. Plastics will pollute the sea so it is bad for the environment.

break down – become smaller

ex. Plastic doesn’t break down so it is bad for the environment.

writing paper – for writing

jail cell – room in jail

sneak – to move in a careful, secretive way

ex. He was caught sneaking through the back door.

arrest – to catch someone for a crime they did

ex. He was arrested for stealing some sweets from the shop.

Grammar

use the plural noun to talk about general situations

ex. Mobile phones are convenient and has many functions.

ex. Computers are very common and most people have them.

ex. Schools are full of students.

Medicine. If you are sick and you haven’t got any medicine you will die.

Medicine. If you get sick and you haven’t got any medicine then you will die.

Mobile phones are easy to carry and you must have one/own one. You can use the phone to call other people, play or watch videos.

One thief went to Mr Bean’s home. The thief took off his clothes and put on Mr Bean’s clothes. When Mr Bean came back to his room he put on the thief’s clothes. The next morning, when the police saw Mr Bean and caught him. Mr Bean was very sad. And then, Mr Bean went to the jail. And the thief came to jail to and they went to another jail to watch TV together. At last, they went out of the police station, but the police officers wanted to catch Mr Bean again so Mr Bean ran away.

One thief went to/snuck into Mr Bean’s home. The thief took off his clothes and put on Mr Bean’s clothes. When Mr Bean came back/returned to his room he put on the thief’s clothes. The next morning, when the police saw Mr Bean, they caught/arrested him because he looks like the thief. Mr Bean was very sad. And then, Mr Bean went to the jail. And the thief came back to jail and he and Mr Bean went to another jail cell to watch TV together. At last, they left the police station, but the police officers wanted to catch Mr Bean again so Mr Bean ran away/escaped.
