Vocabulary

island: a piece of land completely surrounded by water

private: only/owned by only one person, not for everyone 私人

eg. The island is private-owned.

eg. Some private properties are not open to public.

rent: a fixed amount of money that is paid regularly for a room, car etc. that someone else owns 租金

eg. If you live away from home then you have to pay rent.

crabs: 螃蟹

ostrich: 鸵鸟

bite: to use your teeth to cut into something or someone 咬

eg.  My cat bites me when I pick her up.

shallow: not deep 浅

eg. The sea is too shallow for me to swim.

bird sanctuary: 鳥獸保護所

skiing: 滑雪

eg. I will go skiing this winter.

stomachache: 肚子痛 

eg. If I eat raw fish, I will have a stomachache.

raw: 生食
