Writing exercise

What are the characteristics of superficial people to you? How do you usually interact with them?

It’s hard to use one or two words to define one person’s character. As the saying goes action speaks louder than words, so I will observe what they do first and then hear what they say to judge if they are superficial or not. I think those people who are into showing off all the time are the significant ones to match the feature. Because some awesome people around me are really low key and modest. They don’t like always tell the world how wonderful they are, on the opposite, superficial people tend to show what they do, how fabulous they are, which expensive things they have bought. Furthermore, they are so confident to make themselves to be your good teacher and teach you what you should do next. That’s terrible. If they are my clients or colleagues, I’ll only talk about the work itself with them and make sure if the project done or not. After that, I will never interact with them any more after work. If I meet this kind of people in some activities, smiling to them and keeping silent is good ways to communicate with them. Definitely, saying goodbye politely is the best way.

Revised:

It’s hard to use one or two words to define one person’s/an individual’s character. As the saying goes, “Action speaks louder than words, so I will observe their behaviour and then listen to what they say to judge if they are superficial or not. I think those people who usually show off all the time specifically fit/match this description. Because some awesome people around me are really/especially low key and modest. They don’t always tell the world how wonderful they are. On the opposite, superficial people tend to share what they do and tell others how fabulous they are, and which expensive things they have bought. Furthermore, they jump first hand/don’t hesitate to make themselves your teacher and tell you/dictate what you should do next. That’s terrible. If they are my clients or colleagues, I’ll only talk about work with them and make sure that the project gets done. After that, I will never interact with them any more after work. If I meet these people in some activities, smiling at them and keeping silent are good ways to communicate with them. Definitely, saying goodbye politely is the best way to communicate with them.Â
