Vocabulary

prediction – to guess what will happen in the future

ex. It turns out that her prediction for next month’s results is accurate.

ex. He’s known for his false prediction which was out of line with actual results.

residential – has only houses, flats/relating to where you live

ex. residential area/housing/facilities

remove/demolish/get rid of

commercial – for business use

ex. Commercial features were built in this town in 1960.

features –  a quality or an important part of something 特色，特点

demolish – destroy a building

ex. That row of houses was demolished so that the shopping complex could be built.

make room –  space

aptly – suitable or right for a particular situation

ex. The new road has been aptly named “New Lane”

ex. Calling the play a masterpiece aptly sums it up.

in the interim – in between

ex. There was an overall improvement in teaching quality in 2005 and 2010, but there was a decline in the interim.
