Today we focused on:
Phrasal verbs
Vocabulary
run after/go after – chase/try to catch someone or something
tidy up your toys – put them neatly somewhere
put back – put something back to its original place
blow out the candles – get rid of fire
blow up – to go BOOM
run into – to meet someone by chance outside
eg. You ran into me the other day at the subway station.
eg. I rarely run into my friends outside of school.
turn up/down – make it louder/quieter
eg. Turn up the volume, it’s too quiet.
eg. Please turn the volume down.
sleep in late – to not get up early
eg. Aiai likes to sleep in late during the summer holidays.
put away rubbish/toys/food
tie up/do up your shoelaces
language: like English, Chinese, French etc.
eg. What languages do you speak?
eg. I can speak English, Chinese and French.
Grammar

ex. run away/wake up/put on
get up vs. wake up
get up – you leave the bed in the morning
eg. I got up at 10 today to have breakfast.
wake up – you’re not sleeping anymore
eg. I wake up at 7 AM every day.
at – for time
at 10 AM/10 o’clock/2: 30/half past two
Speaking exercise
Before today I’m so hungry and my mum go to buy vegetables and meat for me. My mum cooked for me, but she’s not coming yet.
Teacher Li wake up at 1 o’clock.
I have class on 10. It’s a sandwich class. I have Chinese class.

Yesterday, I was so hungry and my mum went to buy some vegetables and meat for me. My mum cooked hasn’t cooked yet, but she’s going to do it today.
