Vocabulary

warden: head of a camp/prison

perseverance: to continue to do something despite having difficulties

eg. Through hard work and perseverance, he worked his way up to the top.

eg. Stanley’s father would’ve succeeded if he had enough perseverance and luck.

tease: to make fun of someone

eg. Stanley’s classmates teased him for being fat.

eg. She doesn’t like it when you tease him.

discourage: to make someone feel less confident, enthusiastic and positive about something/doing something

arrest: to get caught by the police

eg. Stanley was arrested for stealing a pair of shoes.

odor: bad smell
