Vocabulary

improve: to get better 改进，改善

eg. His performance improved dramatically after a few months.

eg. He did a lot to improve conditions for factory workers.

establish: to start a company or organization that will continue for a long time 建立；设立；创立

eg. My company was established in 1822.

get your hopes up: 令人鼓起希望

eg. Now don’t get your hopes up or you’ll be disappointed later.

mentor: 导师

eg. My mentor guides me when I encounter difficulties at work.

delegate: to give a particular job, duty, right etc. to someone else so that they do it for you （把…）委派（给…），（把…）委托（给…）；授权（给…）

eg. My manager always delegates difficult tasks to me.

excuse: reason 理由，借口

eg. He’d better have a good excuse for being late.

eg. There’s no excuse for that sort of behaviour.

recommend: 推荐，介绍；建议

eg. She has been recommended for promotion.

eg. The doctor recommended (that) I get more exercise.

adjustment: a small change 调整；调节；小改动

eg. The bike needed a few adjustments before it was ready to leave the shop.

eg. It requires a few minor adjustments.
