What do you know about electricity ?

The electric is the things we use everyday. Like computer, lights and so on. There are three kinds of…. that produce electric is touching. (rubs hands together) —> This is called static electricity.

The 5 basic senses:

1. The sense of Touch —> When we touch strong electricity we will feel a big pain.
2. The sense of Taste—> When we cannot / can’t taste electricity, if we taste electricity it would be dangerous.
3. The sense of hearing . —-> We can’t hear most of the  electricity around us. Sometimes when there is a accident about electricity, maybe we can hear it.
4. The sense of Looking/Sight—>We can’t see most of the electricity but when the strings carrying electricity is broken, maybe it will come out and we can see it. It looks like light or lightning from the sky. 
5. The sense of Smell —> Most of the time we can’t smell electricity but sometimes when the accident happens from the strings carrying electricity, it will be smelly.

storm – 风暴

Once upon a time on an lonely/deserted island, and it will be surrounded by the beautiful sea and behind me theres big mountains and green trees cover the mountains and besides the mountains there is a big forest. There are some seabirds staying on the beach, crabs! The crabs are working/walking(?) on the beach happily. I enjoy the sunshine and sit on the beach relaxing. … The sun goes down and there is dark all around me.  The winds started to blow and the sea starting to get louder, and louder! Suddenly the lightning flashed across the sky! I waited … no, the thunder immediately followed! The lightning was very close. I’m afraid and I feel worried and want to run away but the wind is too stronger that I cant move my feet. A lightening flashed through the sky and hurt a tree and then a fire started in the forest behind me. I am disappointed because I might die. So I just laid there like a helpless crab on the beach, until the morning, the fire was put out by the heavy rains and the sea was beautiful again.

Vocabulary

lightning=  shan dian 闪电

strings carrying electricity=  These have different names

1. Power Cords = used for small appliances such as Computers, TVs, Hair Dryers, Toasters, Coffee Machines, Kitchen appliances, etc.
2. Electrical/Power Lines –  = used for Big objects, such as powering a building, a house or an entire city’s electrical grid.

appliances= Machines used in the Living House.

appropriately = 适当 in a correct way, or in the Right way,

electrified = 电气化

skittering= little crabs walking on the beach. The crabs skittered across the sand.
