Speaking exercise
Do you like to make a lot of plans or go with the flow ?
- make plans = to be organized, to have a structure, to make an itinerary (travel plan)
- Go with the flow = no plans, just jump into the River and float wherever
ex. Jane says that she prefers to just go with the flow. On the weekend, I just get up naturally.
- If you enjoy your work then I think for you, then you will feel leisure.
- Currently, I don’t have enough friends to play badminton with. I need to make more.
Vocabulary
“It’s my claim to fame“ —> what you are known for, a joke phrase, a small reason as to how I could be famous.
ex.
to make friends —> to start a friendship with some people.
legendary (adj.)= very well known and revered, respected, an old icon/person
Ex. Qin Shi Huang is a legendary King of ancient China.
naturally = to do something without forcing it to happen, just natural, easy, organic
leisurely = very relaxed, no rush, no work, just take it easy,
ex. On the weekend, I like to wake up leisurely and go out for brunch.
leisure (noun) = activities for fun, or relax
ex.What do you for leisure? I like to go out to the movies or meet with my friends for leisure.
poetry 诗歌 = artistic language, a fancy or cool way to say something
ex. My favorite style of poetry comes from Edgar Allen Poe.
Ancient = really old
ex. In ancient times …. a long, long, time ago
rhyme = the most basic style of poetry, because the language sounds nice that way…,
ex. The Cat the Hat… by Dr. Seuss.
