Quick Edit and Review:

IĀ have never done these things when talking to foreigners. I think theseĀ tipsĀ are also suitable/compatible when dealing with / considering Chinese people. One thing I donā€™t agree is the subject issue which I don’t agree with is about money. InĀ China, we seldom talk about money whenĀ youĀ firstĀ get to knowĀ someone. Sometimes you know that some of your friends colleaguesĀ earn a lower salary than you, in this case, I will not askĀ it.Ā I can assume how much they earn, based on their position, their working experience, because the salary for each position in the job market is quiteĀ open/transparent.

One of my team members resigned last week, she will move to HZ. Thereā€™s a very famous company in HZ called Alibaba. When she talked to me about her resignation, at that moment, I wanted to ask her about her employment package, butĀ I held down my urge to. Finally, I gave in to my urge and asked the/a job hunter. He told me that in at Alibaba, itā€™s very common that male employeesĀ earn much more thanĀ theĀ femaleĀ employees.

have never done – Not in a million years would I approach foreigners on these subjects.

I think some—> I would suggest

dealing with —-> considering

colleagues — Call-Legz (Not Cali Girls)

suitable –Ā

get to know someone-Ā

open/transparent-Ā

I held down my urge <——–> I gave in to my urgeĀ  = opposites, work well together in phrasing
employment package- to be more specific
the/a – specific/nonspecificĀ

Goals for this and Future Classes: to be more specificĀ  / Subject agreement with plurals/ownership

Listening Test:Ā

Speaking exercise

Why do you like to bellydance?

Original:

I don’t like running and also if I am doing exercising in the gym then I feel that it is quite lonely. I would never in a million years say hello to a stranger in a gym (*personal/cultural differences*). About a year ago, I joined a dancing club and I was one of the team members in the whole team because we attend several competition. Usually the event is held by one of the belly dancing clubs, which is very famous, in the competition there set different levels based on you age and based on if you are an amateur or professional, and you can join the competition as team or individually. One reason (why I love the team) is that I am not quite confident to do it by myself. I am little bit shy so joining as a team is a quite good opportunity to have a try. In our team, some team members have rich experiences of performing soo… later yes.

Some goals:Ā if I talking about job I want to get promoted to the next and maybe change the house/apartment. There are too many uncertainties about the long term future.
