Vocabulary

Check out (verb) – look at closely
I will check out your ID

Checkout (noun) – the place where you pay in the supermarket/shop
The supermarket only has 5 checkouts

Ring up (verb) – add to the price
The cashier rings up my goods

Till / cash machine – the machine used by the cashier
At the checkout, the cashier uses the till to ring up my goods

Credit card machine / Card reader – machines used to pay with your credit car at the checkout
