Writing: your last holiday 2 years ago. Use the past tense

Wow. A holiday 2 years ago. That is really hard to remember. But i will try.

That happened on January 22nd, 2017.

It all began after we got married.

We needed a place to buy stuff—they say things in New York are much cheaper than it is here. We needed a place to stay together. Besides, i like old buildings. That’s why we’ve chosen New York.

We tried different dates and booked the cheapest flight possible. Though we were delayed on the first half and stuck in HongKong for one night, it ended up well by the airport’s serving us a free but nice and big meal.

After we arrived in New York, we spent a lot of time sightseeing and tried living in different districts: the Upper west, the Wall Street, and the flushing district. And we took a trip in the city by visiting different stores, eating in different restaurants, etc.

Oh that was a good trip.
